Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis
Under the supervision of the Executive Vice President for Administration and Finance/CFO, the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis is responsible for overseeing the prospective financial management functions. This includes both budgeting and forecasting and encompasses the planning, coordination and control of these processes. Also responsible for financial and predictive analysis and benchmarking.
Essential Functions:
- Working with the AVP for Finance/Controller, planning, coordinating and controlling the annual budget process that begins in December and the culmination of which is a budget package submission to the Board of Trustees in April;
- Planning, coordinating and controlling the semi-annual forecasting process and culminates in a forecast package for the President of the College and Board of Trustees;
- The annual budget and forecasting processes involve significant interaction with the College's Senior Leadership and budget managers. Accordingly, the Manager of FP&A must have strong communication skills and be able to work cross-functionally across all levels of the College;
- Analyzing and documenting actual vs. budgeted and forecasted financial results on a monthly basis (a monthly "MD&A" process). This involves researching detailed operational information with all departments of the College and condensing the information into executive-level summaries;
- Assisting the AVP for Finance/Controller in preparation of financial analyses in support of the annual audit and internal and external financial and tax reporting;
- Working with the AVP for Finance/Controller, maintain all macro-enabled worksheets that support monthly accounting close and monthly internal financial statements;
- Working with enrollment management, maintain all enrollment models;
- Working with financial aid on aid strategy models;
- Researching and compiling competitive and benchmark information for comparative analysis purposes;
- Continuing the on-going process of updating and refining the Colleges long-term (e.g. 5-Year) Financial Model;
- Working with the broader college community to support ad hoc request to create financial models to support business Performing other financial analyses as necessary;
- Preparing and submitting various industry related surveys to IPEDS/NECHE, etc.;
- Performing other financial analyses as necessary;
- Budget reporting - evaluate on an on-going basis the budget report process in conjunction with the AVP for Finance and EVP For Admin & Finance for the purpose of providing efficient, timely, and informative reports to support the budget decision making process;
- Board reporting - develop management reports to support the Board decision making process on an ongoing basis in conjunction with the President and EVP For Admin & Finance. Maintain, support and implement modifications to existing board report systems as needed.
Additional Functions:
- Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy;
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or their designee.

Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5 - 7 years experience in financial analysis and accounting for a non-profit organization, preferably in Higher Education.
- Financial management experience necessary to analyze, monitor and forecast revenue and expenses.
- Must be proficient in MS Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- As a direct report to the Executive VP for Administration and Finance/CFO, provide administrative, professional or technical services as needed in accordance with his/her expertise to any and every issue, project or program assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or their designee.
- Experience in Banner systems and advanced Excel including programming in visual basic for Excel preferred.
Salary Range:
$90,000 to $95,000 annually
