Job Summary This position serves as lead communications and outreach officer to support the successful implementation of Georgia Tech's Cultivate Well- Being Action & Transformation Roadmaps, designed to advance one of the six areas of the Institute's Strategic Plan. Roadmaps focus on enhancing the well-being of students, staff and faculty. Consistent with the collective impact framework, advanced by the Stanford Center on Philanthropy & Civil Society this position serves along with the Director, Cultivate Well-Being Action & Transformation to provide essential backbone support. In consultation with Institute Communications and college-/division-based communications and outreach professionals, and in collaboration with all cabinet areas, shared governance entities, and other partners, the incumbent provides operational expertise and technical assistance in the area of health- and wellness-related communications, focusing on social change to improve well-being outcomes and impact organizational culture. The position will provide servant- leadership to advance efforts across the Institute in realization of the shared vision.

Responsibilities Job Duty 1 - Serve as a highly engaged day-to-day facilitator for advancing the Institute Strategic Plans focus area Cultivate Well-Being, by serving as a credible, knowledgeable resource on effective health and wellness communications and outreach efforts, as well as socio-ecological change strategies in the areas of risk-reduction and prevention, health behavior, wellness, and well-being
Job Duty 2 - Ensure the infusion of an equity mindset in the development and dissemination of communications/materials and in the identification and deployment of communication mediums/modalities; advance an interdependent, integrated approach for public health, well-being, diversity and inclusion, and social justice outreach initiatives, that is grounded in evidence-based practices and solutions and is informed by institutional data, both quantitative and qualitative
Job Duty 3 - Assist the Director in creating and sustaining the five conditions that contribute to collective impact success (Kania & Kramer, 2011), which include (a) generating a common agenda and common understanding of the problem and the proposed solutions; (2) defining shared measurement systems and reaching agreement on how success will be measured and reported; (3) delineating mutually reinforcing activities, where each partner undertake specific initiatives in which they have expertise or strengths, and coordinates them with other partners; (4) engaging in continuous communication so as to build and sustain trust as well as enable accountability; and (5) providing a backbone support organization to coordinate structured decision-making processes, as well as plan, manage and support initiatives through ongoing facilitation, logical and administrative support, and technical assistance
Job Duty 4 - Collaborate with constituents, collaborative partners, stakeholders, and shared governance entities, develop, refine, and disseminate creative, culturally competent, and cutting-edge communications, media content, messaging, and outreach materials that advance the goals and strategies of the Cultivate Well-Being strategic plan; take the lead on or assist with the development of responses to media inquiries related to health, wellness, and well-being action and transformation as appropriate
Job Duty 5 - Establish ongoing working relationships and interact in a collegial, equity literate manner with a broad range of constituents and stakeholders who represent a diverse range of identities, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, including but not limited to (a) Georgia Tech students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni; (b) University System of Georgia administrators, colleagues and Board of Regents; and (c) families and parents, community members, donors, governmental representatives, and elected officials
Job Duty 6 - As needed, consult with Institute Communications as warranted, assist cabinet areas, colleges, divisions, and departments across the Institute with the development of values-driven communication and outreach strategies (including social media and the web) and materials associated with the successful planning, implementation, evaluation and ongoing improvement of activities, efforts and initiatives in support of the Cultivate Well-Being Action & Transformation Roadmaps; ensure that work products are based on best and emerging practices in health and wellness communications, and that they are culturally relevant and responsive to a diverse range of learners and target audiences
Job Duty 7 - Assist the Director with developing agendas, managing membership and meetings, and maintaining agenda/materials/notes for administrative, planning, and implementation meetings that advance and support implementation of the Cultivate Well-Being Action & Transformation Roadmaps consistent with the collective impact framework
Job Duty 8 - Assist the Director with preparing annual reports and other submittals or helping to collate/prepare such reports as required for accreditation, Institute strategic planning processes, University System of Georgia reporting, or other internal and external mandates; assist the Director with drafting and disseminating monthly, quarterly, and/or semesterly updates that monitor progress and provide ongoing transparency on various goals and action strategies
Job Duty 9 - Conduct a routine environmental scan of Georgia Tech health-, wellness- and well-being-related communications and outreach materials and ensure that the Institute-wide approach to communications and outreach demonstrates the appropriate degree of accuracy, cogency, and consistency in messaging, information, etc.

Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Master's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications Degree from an accredited institution of higher education required in a field relevant to the primary responsibilities.
Required Experience Five to seven years of job-related experience designing and delivering culturally competent communications in support of public health, well-being and similar areas, targeting a diverse range of audiences
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications Terminal degree from an accredited institution of higher education, in a field relevant to the primary responsibilities
Preferred Experience Seven years of progressively responsible experience designing and delivering culturally competent communications in support of public health, well-being and similar areas, targeting a diverse range of audiences, including in a higher education setting
Experience with assessment, evaluation, and quality improvement. Experience with fund- or friend-raising efforts. Experience with successfully applying for extramural grant funding. Experience with a sustained cultural change or organizational transformation effort. Technical skills to develop, sustain, and manage effective and engaging websites and/or web platforms.
