POSITION OVERVIEW
Incumbent serves as Director, BFS Finance & Budget within Business & Financial Services (BFS). This position is responsible for planning, coordination, and management of the department annual budget in excess of 40 million; manages the financial performance and accountability and control environment for multiple complex divisions and self-supporting activities. Incumbent develops analytical and financial modeling tools to guide management decisions on staffing, operating funds, rates, and new business ventures. Has oversight and responsibility for long-term projections and analysis of available and projected financial resources. Designs and maintains financial information system; Establishes internal controls to assess and manage risk in areas such as budget and finance. The impact of erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals may result in additional costs to the department as well as workload issues to existing personnel.
This position also serves as a member of the BFS Extended Core Leadership Team (BFS-ECLT) in the capacity as Division Manager; participates fully in strategic planning, formulation of goals and objectives, and decision-making. Also participates as an active member of the CFO's Financial Team, and acts as a subject-matter expert to provide feedback to constituents and to ensure that various CFO and campus budget office directives and reporting requirements are achievable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Comprehensive knowledge of finance and budget policies, practices and systems; budgeting and reporting techniques; fund accounting; human resource planning; accounting and bookkeeping.
Extensive, in-depth, hands-on experience (Typically ten (10) years min.) of and progressively responsible financial leadership/management position in a large and complex organization (public or private entity).
Demonstrated leadership in a public research university with complex, diverse problems, understanding the organizational structure and functions of the University and resource management. Extensive experience with complex systems, financial applications and managerial reporting applications.
Demonstrated expertise in the fiscal planning analysis, development and management of complex, high Required dollar (e.g., multi-million) volume financial operations involving fund accounting, staffing, capital budgets, operating budgets, financial analysis, financial reporting, budgetary systems, forecasting, long-range financial planning, and internal financial controls.
Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience in personnel management & supervision, performance management, organizational administration and strategic planning.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated expertise in applying advanced computer technology as a problem-solving tool in financial modeling, analysis, budgetary management and other administrative functions.
Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with MS Office software applications (i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint) or similar software

General knowledge and/or experience with Oracle Financial Cloud platform
