The College of Sciences at North Carolina State University is searching for a dynamic and creative leader to be our new Assistant Dean of Finance and Business Management. We are seeking a talented person who can think creatively and work with us to create, develop, implement and assess student and educational experiences that enhance human interaction, integrate innovative technologies, and provide practical experiences that connect our students to the world around us.
About the Department
The College Office of Finance and Business Management (OFBM) is responsible for delivering the full complement of business and finance services to the College of Sciences. The department is also responsible for long-range financial planning and direction of the fiscal operations of the College. The College has six departments as well as several centers and institutes, including units that perform significant outreach activities.
Reporting to the Dean of the College of Sciences (COS), the Assistant Dean of Finance and Business Management provides organization, direction, analysis, delivery, management, and leadership for finance and business management services and takes steps to ensure that such services function effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements as well as University policies, practices, and procedures. Finance and business management services include, but are not limited to: budget development and management; standard operating procedures for business processes, and position control. The Assistant Dean provides executive-level work to analyze and address issues of organizational efficiency, contributes to strategic conversations, and manages the implementation of action items through detailed and comprehensive knowledge of the structure, operation, strategies and objectives of the college and university. The Assistant Dean supervises 2 direct reports and has a team of 3 employees. The Assistant Dean will indirectly supervise 11 positions, 7 of which have a dotted-line reporting structure to the Assistant Dean.
