The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Assistant Fiscal and HR Officer / Fiscal and HR Officer with the College of Engineering.

The Assistant Fiscal and HR Officer assists the Fiscal & HR Officer for the College with financial and human resource functions within the unit.  This position supports financial management by preparing, monitoring, and amending budgets in alignment with policies and award restrictions, and providing guidance to managers regarding account requests.  This position supports human resource functions by serving as the delegated approval authority for HCM business processes, auditing H/R reports for compliance, recommending solutions for personnel issues, overseeing unit and departmental recruitments, and preparing exception requests for submission to Executive for approval. 

The Fiscal and HR Officer is responsible for financial management, budgetary oversight, and human resources for the College of Engineering.  The incumbent has signature authority on all accounts within the College. This position oversees the human resource function for the college.  In the Dean’s absence, the individual is the recommending authority for faculty and the appointing authority for classified staff.  The incumbent directly supervises a professional staff position and provides direction to other office staff in the Dean’s office as well as administrative assistants in five departments. The position reports to the Dean, College of Engineering.

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and two years of related professional experience or a Master’s Degree from an accredited institution and one year of related professional experience. Related experience: A combination of fiscal and human resources experience or a related field.

Fiscal and HR Officer

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and five years of related professional work experience or a Master’s Degree from an accredited institution and three years of related professional work experience. Related experience: In accounting, financial analysis, personnel management, supervision, methods of internal control or administration or a related field.
