Columbia College was founded in 1854 as Columbia Female College by the Methodist Conference of South Carolina. Today, Columbia College offers a personalized liberal arts education that is open and inclusive to all. Columbia College encompasses the historic undergraduate day college as well as evening, online, and graduate programs. Total enrollment is approximately 1500. The Vice President for Finance and Administration reports to the President and is an officer of the College. The vice president serves as chief financial officer and is responsible for ensuring the College’s fiscal integrity and operational efficiency through effective administration and direction of its financial, human, technology, and physical resources. The vice president serves as senior staff liaison to three committees of the Board of Trustees: business affairs, investment, and real estate, buildings, and grounds. Reporting directly to the vice president will be the controller, the director of human resources, and the horticulturalist. The portfolio also includes (outsourced) information technology, physical plant, food service, mailroom, and bookstore.

Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, financial modeling, business office operations, and debt financing is required. Experience in facilities management and planning, gift and endowment administration, tuition pricing and discounting, technology, and human resources is preferred. Experience in a private college setting is preferred.

A bachelor’s degree is required, with a master’s degree preferred.
