The Office of Finance & Treasury at Princeton University seeks a financial planning and analysis professional for the role of Manager, Capital Planning and Analytics. Working as an integral member of the Director for Treasury Planning and Operation's team, the Manager, Capital Planning and Analytics is responsible for supporting the University's capital budget and integrated planning efforts. The Manager is an advanced/expert excel user and has advanced knowledge of financial modeling and analytics to create and maintain proprietary models and analytical tools. The Manager will utilize the University's enterprise financial system, Peoplesoft, and other systems to support the timely and accurate management of the capital project lifecycle. Additionally, the Manager is responsible for collaborating with other University units to ensure accurate and timely updates to the Integrated Financial Planning Tool.
This position directly manages an associate analyst in the many daily activities that comprise the capital budget area, including: opening and budgeting capital project grants in accordance with University policies; implementing funding decisions for capital projects, including debt; investigating and resolving issues arising from capital projects; among others.

Manage the ongoing implementation of the University's Thirteen-Year Capital Plan and the financial management of the University's Capital Programs and Capital Plan(s)
Develop procedures to ensure consistent analysis and reporting from year to year.
Lead analysis of capital plan and project activity to support short-term and long-term forecasting and planning, including financial impacts of changes to the Capital Plan.
Analyze University capital projects to determine appropriate funding sources and prepare budget and funding analyses and journal entries for capital projects.
Perform ongoing quality assurance of project-related data, including reconciliation of budgets, expenses, funding sources, and project attributes to ensure accuracy of information and analysis.
Support year-end reconciliations and true-up of budgets and funding process for the Capital Plans by providing data to the Treasury Accountant.
Prepare capital budget presentations and documents for Board of Trustees and University leadership, including the annual update of the Capital Plan, submittals for project approvals and updates on internal project approvals in accordance with University policy.
Administer and maintain the University's Integrated Financial Planning Tool, a multi-year pro-forma financial statement & forecasting application
Further develop the IFP within Oracle's Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services (EPBCS) and ensure that all financial guidelines/considerations are accurate, complete, and understood to key stakeholders.
Lead data input from various offices into the Integrated Financial Planning tool and ensure integration and consistency.
Generate multi-year pro-forma financial statements using a deep understanding of GAAP accounting and various University models and their interrelationships.
Evaluate and review budget-to-actual data from multiple constituents for reasonableness, accuracy, consistency, appropriateness of classifications, and variance reporting.
Lead scenario analysis using the tool as needed and/or requested by F&T leadership.
Serve as a supporting resource to the Director, Treasury Planning & Operations
Consistently anticipate the needs of business partners and leverage project management skills to ensure timeliness of deliverables.
Perform ad-hoc analyses and reports as requested and resolve issues as they arise.
Assist in the preparation of presentations and reporting materials for the Board of Trustees and senior management.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Math, or other technical area of concentration(s).
Six or more years of related experience.
Advanced knowledge of capital budgets and financing, preferably in a University environment
Experience with industry standard capital budgeting systems
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Advanced to expert knowledge of financial modeling and data analytics
Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, and/or a CPA a plus.
Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of Oracle EPBCS
