Job Description:
What We Are Looking For

The Financial Manager reports to the Director of Baylor Institute for Studies of Religion, and Business Officer, Office of Vice Provost of Research and supports the mission of the University by managing the fiscal functions of the Baylor Institute for Studies of Religion (ISR) in accordance with nonprofit accounting practices, federal guidelines and Baylor policies. Provides good stewardship of University and grant funds through the implementation of effective financial processes and management of daily financial operations.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, three years of relevant experience and an active Christian Faith is required. A Master's degree and five years of experience is preferred.

What You Will Do

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee and reconcile ISR procurement processes to include management of requisitions, invoices, supplier contracts, vouchers, gift transmittals, deposits, and expense reports.
• Develop, maintain, and reconcile detailed personnel and operating budgets for ISR grant projects and regional offices.
• Generate financial statements and run reports in Ignite to monitor the accuracy and completeness of financial and accounting information.
• Review grant expenditures for compliance with grant objectives and university policy and assist in the preparation of financial reports to grantors, in collaboration with the University Research Administrator and programmatic teams.
• Develop, analyze, and implement effective budget and administrative strategies for ISR in compliance with University goals for strategic research growth
• Create and monitor various dashboard tools to assist in management decision-making and periodic progress reporting to internal and external constituents
• Advise unit leadership on ISR financial matters, including management of grant funds, unrestricted funds, budgets, and expenditures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
• Ability to comply with University policies.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
