As the Director of Information Technology Services, you provide leadership and oversight to Front Range Community College’s (FRCC) college-wide Information Technology Services (ITS) department. You develop and implement the college’s vision for the use of technology by partnering with college leadership to provide sustainable and cost-effective technologies. You manage and supervise the Information Technology Services department staff, continuously create and improve department processes, and you collaborate with the ITS leadership team to create a delivery model that enhances the student and employee experience. This position can be based at any of FRCC's three campuses.
Please note: This is an on-campus position with an opportunity for remote work. You need to be a Colorado resident on your first day of employment.

PRIMARY DUTIES
Strategic Management
- Partner with college leadership to provide sustainable and cost-effective technologies which enable innovative, diverse, and agile solutions that align with the college’s strategic initiatives.
- Develop and recommend long-range goals, applying college-wide standards to ensure sustainable integration of technology.
- Coordinate use of information technology at all campuses and sites by working with Vice Presidents to ensure information technology needs are met on an ongoing basis.
- Develop total cost of ownership analyses for technology initiatives and recommend technology investments to the Vice President of Finance and Administration and President’s Cabinet.
- Act as a strategic partner in the planning, resourcing, and work prioritization of technology resources with a focus on driving exceptional student outcomes through effective change leadership, agile practices, and actively resolving conflicts and constraints.
- Serve as a liaison to Colorado Community College System – IT for operations related to system-wide management of information systems.
- Maintain relationships with vendor contacts, evaluate vendor offerings, and recommend solutions that maximize effectiveness while minimizing cost and risk.
People Management
- Provide overall management and supervision of staff in the ITS department. Directly supervise IT Managers, the Infrastructure Manager, the Web & Database Manager, and the Senior Project Manager.
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the college’s IT department.
- Provide ongoing performance management, training, and growth opportunities for all IT employees.
- Create a culture of community and develop meaningful relationships with people of diverse identities, perspectives, and cultural backgrounds across the college.
- Provide an emotionally safe environment and demonstrate self-awareness and regulation in responding to others.
Process Management
- Create lean, agile processes with a focus on equity, inclusion, and diversity. In partnership with the ITS leadership team define, implement, and continuously improve IT service management, project management, and resource management processes to create a culture and delivery model which enhances the student and employee experience in a sustainable and efficient manner.
- Analyze IT processes and procedures to anticipate the consequences to all staff and students. Act to remove barriers and ensure equitable practices.
- Create and implement comprehensive application and information documentation, including knowledge management, business processes, and technical architecture blueprints.
- Partner with the VP of Finance and Administration to review and modify organizational guidelines. Recommend modifications to better align the delivery of college-wide IT services.
- Review and approve software and solution requests to ensure they are appropriate for the college’s environment and that they meet security and accessibility requirements.
- Develop and maintain FRCC’s IT Master Plan, IT Emergency Response Plan, and Disaster Recovery plans.

Leadership: Lead ITS department in providing a safe and secure teaching, learning, and working environment for the college’s student, faculty, and staff. Develop and implement a comprehensive IT technology plan.
Communication: Communicate throughout the college with administrators, faculty, and staff aw well as internal departments and external partners.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Champion equity and inclusion within the college and the department through policies and practices that support all staff, students, and visitors.
Collaboration: Understand who needs to be involved in complex projects and how to engage them during project inception, planning, development, implementation, and close out.
Critical Thinking: Identify future innovation opportunities that relate to higher education. Determine the most appropriate manner to leverage technology using available resources. Develop long-term strategies and road maps for the department.
Organization: Coordinate multiple complex projects and deadlines. Must know how to delegate and supervise tasks while working effectively within specific teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
AND
- 5 – 7 years of increasingly responsible experience in a mid to senior level IT position.
- Extensive knowledge of computer networking, data communications, telecommunications, and computer hardware and software systems.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Experience leading in a higher education environment.
