The Director of Financial Operations will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The Director will oversee the procurement, contract management, and legal functions; manage the University's strategic relationships and significant contracts; and review, monitor, and enforce University policies. This position is a key member of the Finance team and will serve as a resource to the Executive Leadership team.
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Oversee the operations of the University's Procurement Department.
Assist the Procurement Department with the implementation of operational best practices to strengthen performance and internal controls.
Assist with the implementation of an eProcurement system and lead the change of current processes as necessary.
Oversee the administration of the Contract Management unit.
Assist with prioritizing and processing University contracts and ensure we are meeting acceptable processing times and/or deadlines.
Work with outside counsel on non-employment related legal matters.
Review and modify current contract signing authority levels.
Manage the financial performance of the University's Centers (i.e., Manhattan Center) and coordinate with applicable staff to ensure profitable operations occur at each of the Centers.
Serve as a member on the University Homes Committee to help manage the university's homes - monitor rent payments, ensure adequate maintenance and renovation.
Monitor and assess Business continuity plans and coordinate updates across the university annually or as needed.
Oversee the policy library, committee, approval process and ensure compliance with University policies.
Oversee financial operations of University's key vendors/partnerships in the areas of food services, bookstore, international student programs and others.
Coordinate with assistant controllers that appropriate accounting, billing, and collections for University partnerships.
Manage the University insurance coverage and continuously monitor to ensure coverage is appropriate.
Assist the Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations and Chief Financial Offer with special projects as needed.
Serve on various University committees.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Business, preferably Finance or Accounting required.
Master's degree is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in finance, accounting or operations required.
Higher education experience is preferred.
Prior supervisory experience is required.
Experience with eProcurement systems preferred.
