The Director of Budget & Resource Planning provides administrative, accounting, and financial strategic guidance & direction for the planning, budgeting and management of financial and human resources in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. The director works in close cooperation with College units and departments to plan, develop and implement policies and procedures for the effective use of financial and personnel resources. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategically identify College units' financial strengths and weaknesses, analyzing adequacy of financial processes including the evaluation of internal controls. Develop and implement improved processes where needed, determining the best approaches for efficiently and effectively addressing business needs specific for the unit.
For all units within LAS, develop and implement means for unit Executive Officers and College Administration to continuously be informed of the full and complete, updated financial status of units. Work will include developing appropriate standardized tools, reports, policies, methods, procedures, and guidelines as well as educating and training of unit personnel in their use and understanding.
Utilizing the Commitments database, manage the college financial commitment recording, documenting, tracking, and budget transfer process. Manage college-wide funding programs and oversee the disbursement process.
Provide management information for budget monitoring, forecasting, planning, and decision-making at the College level. Serve as a resource for unit administrators and their offices on a variety of fiscal, human resource matters, as well as University & College policy and procedures relating to all fund sources.
Prepare & monitor budgets and management of college general reserve funds utilizing knowledge of funds, sources and planned uses. Work includes strategic discussions with Executive Officers and College Administrators in the use of funds and in the estimation of future cash inflows and outflows.
Devise and develop reports and queries using a variety of tools for use in management of College and Department resources, data analysis, and coordination of the annual budget development process.
Represent the College in administrative matters with appropriate campus offices and participate in campus-wide committees and/or activities relative to the management of fiscal and personnel resources.
Work closely with other financial and human resource professionals as a member of the College administrative/financial management team.

Six years of experience with increasing administrative and fiscal responsibilities.
Extensive experience managing multiple fund types.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business related field and/or Master's of Business Administration.
Two years of experience in human resource programming.
Successful candidates will have the following: Extensive understanding of managing multiple fund types. Detailed and expansive understanding and experience of the Banner system, University organizational structure, fund types, data sources, and policies/procedures. Demonstrated exceptional analytical and technical skills required in addition to strong organization and communication skills. Strong understanding of human resource processes, detailed knowledge of employee position nuances, and the intersections between budget and personnel.
