REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field; thorough knowledge of taxation, financial analysis, and U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); at least six years’ direct tax experience at a large public accounting or law firm, multinational corporation or partnership with a significant tax department, or not-for-profit tax department of a large research university; experience leading staff; experience interpreting complicated tax/finance concepts for colleagues with varying degrees of understanding; proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to lead multiple challenging projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting with strict deadlines; strategic problem-solving and risk assessment orientation; excellent analytical, organizational, consultative, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills; discretion, tact, and good judgment with highly sensitive/confidential information; ability to work collaboratively in a consensus-driven environment; and willingness to pitch in with the team to accomplish tasks.  PREFERRED:  CPA or advanced degree in accounting, taxation, and/or law; management experience focused on advisory, planning, and compliance projects; experience calculating/reporting tax on investment income; familiarity with tax rules affecting nonprofits, endowments, investments, and international tax; experience with IRS, state, and foreign government audits; experience with financial and accounting systems, particularly within higher education; and knowledge of/experience with state and global mobility issues.  Job #18963-11
