The Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver is an interdisciplinary professional school of international studies that prepares students for careers in the public, private and non-profit sectors. The School offers six masters degrees and two undergraduate degrees and houses several research centers and institutes. The Associate Dean for Administration serves as a member of the Dean's leadership team responsible for overseeing all financial and non-academic operational aspects of the Korbel School for International Studies. As both a strategic partner and a senior manager, the broad portfolio attributed to the Associate Dean ranges from participating in the development of the overall strategy to specific requirements for executing in key areas. The Associate Dean for Administration will head a team that supports the Dean in achieving key priorities for the Korbel School and ensuring the smooth day to day functioning of administrative areas. The ability to hire and support the development of a seasoned team of professionals with significant expertise will be vital.
Provide overall leadership and focus for strategic initiatives from development through successful execution.
Oversee daily operations in collaboration with senior staff and unit leaders.
Direct financial planning, budget development, reporting, and compliance.
Provide strategic counsel and support for marketing and communications.
Ensure overall effectiveness in meeting student recruitment, enrollment, and retention goals, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
Oversee HR functions including staff development.
Develop systems and processes to enhance operations.
Manage the effective utilization of space.
Ensure optimal operation of support functions.
Represent Korbel and the Dean within Korbel and across the University of Denver.
Supervises, Directors of Admissions, Finance, and Administration, Marketing and Communications, Career and Professional Development and an Administrative support person.
Special Projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
