Gannon University, a diocesan Catholic university, invites applications for the position of Procurement Director. The successful candidate is a high integrity, trusted, member of the Finance Team who works across the University to optimize spending on goods and services. Responsible for negotiating with vendors, reviewing contracts, assisting with requests for proposals, and informing spending strategies, the Director runs the day-to-day procurement operations including processing purchase orders and requisitions, administering the purchase card system, and maintaining relationships with key business and supply partners. The Director serves as a key contributor to maintaining fiscal health and improving the seamlessness of University processes, including the integration of technology solutions with procurement and operational processes. Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree in Materials Management/Procurement or a related field; Master's degree and CPSM certification is preferred. Three to five years of experience in purchasing and experience with electronic purchasing systems and ERP systems is required; Colleague (Datatel) experience is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation and negotiation skills are needed. Successful candidates must have strong analytical and computer skills along with a demonstrated ability to build relationships.
