Xavier University is seeking an energetic and experienced individual to take the lead as our next Bursar. The Bursar serves as the senior customer service contact for students and parents for all billing and payment matters. The position is responsible for the accurate and timely billing of all student charges and the accurate collection and posting of all student payments, and for the collection of outstanding Accounts Receivable for current and formerly registered students. The Bursar is also responsible for assessing tuition, fees, and late fees, for the management of the payment plans, and for managing repayment of various loan programs and ensures that the University remains in compliance with all regulations related to student billing, payments and collections. The successful candidate must provide a high level of service and responsiveness to students, parents, faculty, staff and outside business partners; he or she must also build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across a variety of divisions and departments to ensure student and institutional needs are balanced. The position reports to the Vice President, Financial Administration and Chief Business Officer.

Salary Range: Competitive salary based upon experience and education.

Bachelor’s Degree in a business discipline, preferably in Accounting or Management.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and proficiency in Banner (Student Module and Accounts Receivable).
Experience with web based cash and billing software (CASHnet, ECSI, Bank Mobile).
Regulatory compliance knowledge.
Five to ten years of work experience in a similar role.
