Frostburg State University, Budget Department, seeks applications for a full-time, exempt Financial Analyst position. Salary commensurate with qualifications and includes USM benefits package.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Assistant Budget Director, perform detailed budgeting for the salaries and fringes. Enter budgets, adjustments and transfers. Perform budget overrides/tracking and answering budget questions. Prepare budget setup. Accounting for fixed assets, tracking purchases, construction, equipment, and sensitive items. Complete financial statement schedules related to fixed assets. Assist in preparing program proposals and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting. Supervise student workers. Other related duties as assigned. Must comply with federal, state, USM, and institutional policies and procedures related to general accounting. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent plus 2-3 years’ financial, budgetary or related experience. Advanced Excel knowledge and experience. Ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with budgets and budgeting systems, PeopleSoft HR and PeopleSoft Financials. Experience with reconciliations and analytics.
Other: Any combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and progressively responsible related work experience may be considered.
