The University Budget Director is a working manager who leads a team of four experienced budget staff in supporting the leadership of the University in the development and implementation of budgets, revenue and expense forecasts, and all other aspects of budget operations at Vermont's flagship university, which operates within a responsibility-centered management budget system. The Director reports to the Vice President for Finance and Treasurer and is a key member of the Division of Finance leadership team, which includes the University Controller, and the directors of the Administrative Business Service Center and the Office of Operational Excellence. Applicants should have at least seven years of budget experience, preferably in a higher education or governmental setting, and a master's degree, preferably in business administration, public administration, economics, or other finance-related field. Applicants for this position should be skilled communicators, strategic thinkers, and have expertise in the use of software and systems that support budget decision-making.
