The Bursar role is a senior leader in the Business and Financial Services division and reports directly to the University’s Controller. The Bursar position oversees the billing and collection of over $250M annually in student tuition and fee revenue and is directly responsible for managing student accounts, campus-based loan-processing, cash collection and management, as well as student and non-student accounts receivable functions. The role supports a team of 2 managers, 9 personnel, 2 student financial IT staff, and 8-10 students serving as key thought partner in student account management and accounting policies and procedures at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Demonstrated record of successful experience in Accounts Receivable and/or Student Account Management in an education sector (Bursar, Student Financial Services or Financial Aid divisions)
Evidence of experience leading and directing financial support staff and managing teams
Experience leveraging information technology in a customer service environment
Experience interpreting, analyzing and reporting on financial data from accounting and student information systems
Experience in process re-engineering, developing policy, and implementing new strategies and procedures
Expertise in student information systems, preferably Oracle (Peoplesoft) and other related payment systems (CASHnet, etc.)
Experience overseeing a day-to-day cash management operation
