Manage the daily operations, activities and functions of the University of Vermont Bookstore. Develop, analyze and implement financial, operational and marketing plans for the department to meet/exceed revenue, productivity and efficiency goals. Partner with customers and vendors to ensure department is providing timely, appropriate, high-quality products and services at the most efficient prices. Supervise and develop exempt and non-exempt, unionized and non-unionized staff. Reporting to the Director of Retail Services, actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering effective customer service.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field and seven to ten years related experience in a collegiate or commercial bookstore or related area required. Ability to analyze, budget for and manage the financial commitments/results of a high-volume retail products and services-based business line, including cost-of-goods/inventory management required. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and publishing programs required.
