Position Description: Assists the Provost and Vice Provosts with overall fiscal budgeting and cost control measures throughout the academic sector. Participates in budget development for the Academic and Student Affairs areas. Works with the Provost, Deans and College Fiscal Officers to create fiscal guidelines and to implement budget allocation targets. Ensures adherence to university budget policies and procedures throughout the academic sector. Develops and produces budget, revenue and expense reports. Prepares a variety of forecasting models and analyzes related data. Oversees faculty and staff contract processes for areas reporting to the Provost. Oversees the Division of Research & Graduate Studies budgets. Develops division budgets; coordinates budget building activities for all areas reporting to the Provost. Supervises assigned staff. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field. Ten years professional experience in accounting, finance, budget and grant administration. Experience with large scale, integrated enterprise database systems. Detail-oriented, deadline responsible. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient with spreadsheet, database, word processing and presentation software. Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment involving fiscal operations.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field, or certified Public Accountant. Five years’ experience in higher education overseeing fiscal operations at a college level or higher. Experience working as part of a team.
