The Bursar manages student financial services, billing, receivables, collections, and student-related third-party contracts, including all cashiering for the university and learning centers. Additionally, all aspects of tuition and fee revenue cycles for multiple university cost centers, charge/credit reconciliations, billing/cash receipt compliance and revenue management fall under the purview of the position.
Beyond maintaining standard university, state and federal accounting procedures, the Bursar is responsible for complying with Federal Title IV, Department of Health and Human Services, Gramm Leach Bliley, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, and other pre- and post-graduation Department of Education programs.
The position also oversees, reviews and approves student billing, cash receipts and securing of funds for the Business Office and Campus Service Center, as well as the implementation of new accounting procedures in compliance with GAAP; moreover, the Bursar supervises Business Office relationships between and among students, parents, auditors and all other university departments.

Education, Skills, Experience Required:
Baccalaureate degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of five (5) or more years of clearly demonstrated responsible professional administrative and management experience specific to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Accounting.
Thorough knowledge of fundamental accounting procedures, theories, and terminologies with the ability to perform accounting tasks with accuracy and competence.
Familiar with standard Federal and State guidelines, concepts, practices, procedures, within the educational field.
Ability to perform highly complex mathematical and financial analyses to come to meaningful conclusions for planning and budgeting.
