Key Responsibilities: Responsible for developing, maintaining, managing and reporting on the Business Continuity Management (BCM) Program and working with all stakeholders to ensure that the BCM Program is implemented effectively across the University. Responsible for ensuring the BCM Program is aligned with international standards and best practices as necessary. • Lead the implementation of the University's BCM program • Provide overall governance and direction setting of the program on an ongoing basis • Align the program with international standards and best practices • Drive compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and industry standards as required • Embed BCM in University Culture • Design and deliver training and awareness programs • Lead and drive the delivery of BCM processes • Build a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to assess internal and external threats and the risk they pose to the University and its community and recommend mitigation strategies to reduce or eliminate identified risks • Drive and develop the content of BCM plans and documentation for core operational areas that allows for business continuation in the event of disruptions or disasters • Develop BCM strategies leveraging existing capabilities and best practice • Drive the delivery of BCM plans and ensure they are effective to maintain and/or restore business processes within required timescales following interruption to, or failure of, critical business processes • Design BCP testing program and actively participate in testing scenarios • Provide leadership and advice to assist other departments with BCM activities • Manage and coordinate the efforts of functional managers in relation to BCM • Integrate with other key components such as Incident Response, Emergency Management and Crisis Management • Partner with other BCM stakeholders such as IT, HSE, Utilities, Facilities Management and other important BCM stakeholders to ensure alignment, common processes and agreed activities • Manage the activities amongst various BCM work streams • Escalate BCM risks and coordinate mitigating responses • Develop and maintain BCM documentation and templates • Track implementation of the BCM program, develop and record status and prepare management reports as necessary • Manage a BCM Specialist • Perform other duties as requested by Manager
Key Requirements: • Excellent Project/Program Management skills - demonstrable track record successfully managing projects at the highest technical and tactical levels, coordinating multi-discipline projects • Excellent analytical skills and understanding of processes, risks and controls • Sound knowledge about related international standards and best practices • Exceptional risks and issues management, change control • Good communicator • Excellent command of English (verbal/written) • Highly developed interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate and influence decision-making with senior management • Ability to work with a global team • Energetic, Self-starter, Flexible and Goal-oriented • Business minded, well-organized, team worker with strong problem solving and leadership skills
Qualifications • Bachelor's degree. MBA or Master's degree equivalent preferred. • Related industry certification with a recognized institution e.g. BCI or DRI
Experience: • A minimum of 8+ years' experience in Business Continuity Management/Disaster Recovery/Crisis Management • Proven experience in BCM topics driving the need for strategically influencing senior business leaders, facilitating decision making and managing cross-functional teams in multi-cultural environment • Experience within a tertiary institution or other large organization
