The position plans, administers, coordinates and monitors the operation and administration of the District’s Food Services, Bookstores and various College support services. Functions as the Auxiliary Services Manager. The Director serves in an entrepreneurial role to ensure satisfaction with various campus support services including food service, the bookstores, food service/vending, and other revenue generating/support operations.
The successful candidate should have a proven track record of: •Managing major support services including bookstores, food services, and/or other revenue generating/support operations •Developing strategy and tactics to enhance current operations in the areas managed, and pursue new opportunities for lowering costs and/or enhancing revenue and/or support to the College’s customers. •Working effectively as a liaison between the departments managed and the College’s campuses to ensure that service, quality and price are balanced. •Development and management of spreadsheets/budgets, including the ability understand at least basic accounting. •Skill in development and management of contracts. •Effective recruitment, development and retention of staff. •Strong written and oral communication skills. •Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Word. •Has oversight of the risk management function. The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of prior-related work experience.

About Hillsborough Community College
Hillsborough Community College is one of the last community colleges to be created in Florida. Founded in 1968, only Pasco–Hernando State College is older. There are 28 schools In Florida’s community college system.
In January 2008, the school opened its’ first residence hall, Hawk's Landing, named after the school mascot. This marks HCC as one of the few community colleges with its own residence hall. The college has five campuses located throughout the county. Locations include: Brandon, Dale Mabry, Plant City, Ybor City, and South Shore (on the south shore of Tampa Bay in Ruskin). There are also instructional centers at MacDill Air Force Base (South Tampa/aligned with the Plant City Campus) and at the Regent (Riverview) aligned with the Brandon Campus. Administrative offices and headquarters are located on Davis Islands, near downtown Tampa.
HCC has grown to include over 43,000 students. In 2010, HCC ranked 8th in the state and 20th in the nation in total number of associate degrees produced.
HCC houses the prestigious Honors Institute. In 2007, Dr. Lydia Lyons, Director of the Honors Institute; was elected to the office of Vice-President of the National Collegiate Honor...s Council. In 2009, she served as the President of that organization. The Honors coordinator, Lauren Furry, currently serves as the Vice President of the Southern Regional Honors Council. Every year the graduating students from the Honors Institute transfer to universities and colleges such as Boston University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Mount Holyoke College, UCLA, Virginia Tech, and Yale.
