The Auxiliary Services Department at Old Dominion University is seeking candidates for the Director of Finance and Support Services (full-time, 12 month) position. The chief objective of this position is to: (1) provide financial leadership, guidance, and oversight to Auxiliary Services; (2) provide oversight of all Auxiliary Services contracts, assuring their proper performance and compliance; (3) assure that all support services required by Auxiliary Services units are available and operational including IT services; and (4) oversee and supervise the operation of the University Card Center.
Required Education: Master’s degree in business, finance, accounting, management or relate field OR a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, management or related field with experience equivalent to a master’s degree.
Required Qualifications: Considerable financial management experience within a complex organizational environment. Experience with contracts, auditing, internal controls, and policy and procedures compliance. Experience with financial forecasting and analysis especially with retail operations. Considerable experience with information technology (IT) operations. Demonstrated skills in contract compliance, budget preparation, financial accounting, forecasting, analysis and reporting, and long range financial planning. Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and application to fund accounting. Considerable knowledge of reconciliations. Demonstrated ability to analyze research and compile data. Demonstrated ability to develop a variety of fiscal reports using available software. Ability to supervise department directors and act on behalf of the Assistant Vice President for University Auxiliary Services in his/her absence. In-depth knowledge of government procurement policies and regulations.
