Job Duties:
Reporting to the Dean, this position serves as the Chief budget and Fiscal manager for the College, overseeing day-to-day financial activities, annual budget development, and long-range financial planning. The Divisional Finance Officer plays a key leadership role in ensuring the excellence, effectiveness, and efficiency of CEAS business operations.
This position works closely with university administration, business officers, personnel managers, division leadership and staff, and the UWM Foundation. The role also includes supervisory responsibility for four staff members and participation as a member of the College's integrated leadership team.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- May create and monitor the unit budget and approve expenditures
- Develops, plans, and directs staff implementation of information technology serving the institution
- Evaluates existing strategy and makes recommendations to information technology leadership for program enhancement
- Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised information technology operational policies and procedures impacting the institution
- Serves as the subject matter expert to unit leadership regarding information technology operations and functions
- Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees

Compensation: 105,00.00 to 135,00.00
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least three years of professional experience performing directly related work within a similar function
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial principles and accounting standards through progressively responsible roles in finance or a related field
- Experience with financial analysis and reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
- Master's degree related advanced degree, or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA)
- Directly related experience working in finance within a public university or similar setting
- Supervisory or leadership experience
- Proven ability to collaborate and advance initiatives across all levels of an organization
- Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools, including PC-based spreadsheet applications and financial systems
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, including Workday
- Experience with grants management

- Bachelor's degree
Additional information
Hybrid work arrangements may be available. Primary work will be conducted on the UW-Milwaukee campus, with remote work requests considered after the initial training period. Details will be discussed during the interview process.
