Directly oversees and provides strategic vision to the EmoryCard Services and Student Accounts organization and activities within the Student Financial Services umbrella including operational, financial, human resources, strategic planning, analysis, budgeting and reporting. Acts in place of the Director of Student Financial Services, as needed, and will be considered as a succession candidate for that leadership role.
Serves as a project manager for various projects to include process improvement initiatives with technology as the foundation. Acts as the main contact on collaborative initiatives relating to the EmoryCard program and Student Accounts. Leads projects to maximize resource utilization and evaluates projects to establish consistent management processes, procedures and systems to promote standardization, efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and value-added activities.
Develops requirements, outlines, budgets, and schedules for EmoryCard technology projects to ensure the University is at the forefront of card service technologies. Effectively manages resources, properly plans future needs and identifies alternative best practices to apply to projects when appropriate. Monitors progress and outcomes of multiple projects occurring simultaneously and captures the ROI of the recommendations for each project.
Generates relevant solutions for program stakeholders where the focus is value, functionality, convenience, and effectiveness. Represents EmoryCard Services and Student Accounts at University and Division meetings.
Develops and initiates creative marketing campaigns to increase EmoryCard awareness. Stays abreast of industry technology and trends.
Develops and maintains strong stakeholder and solution provider relationships built on trust, delivery performance, proactive communications, and thought leadership. Hires, trains, supervises, develops and evaluates a staff of approximately ten full-time employees plus part-time student employees. Performs related responsibilities as required.
A bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, computer technology or related field and ten years of overall experience including a minimum six years of campus card, student financial services or progressively responsible related management experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Strongly prefer exposure to the principles and practices of higher education and the components of the campus card industry to include campus card transaction systems, access control systems, technologies in cardstocks and system equipment, system integrations, and a strategic vision to move EmoryCard Services to the next level within the industry.
Additional exposure to or experience in Student Financials and PeopleSoft is a plus. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; communicate effectively; supervise with proven ability to direct administrative and support activities and staff; and possess strong financial and analytical skills to use tools to design, develop, and produce reports and analyses. Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture as well as have a good rapport with all areas across Emory.
