The University of Washington (UW), one of the nation’s preeminent public universities, invites nominations and applications for the newly created position of Executive Director, Integrated Service Center. Reporting to the Office of the Executive Vice President for Finance & Administration, the Executive Director will lead a team dedicated to supporting the University’s faculty, staff, and student employees. The team will serve as a first point of contact for designated HR and Payroll inquiries and for processing a defined set of centralized Human Capital Management (HCM) system transactions. The ISC will deliver a high level of service to a community of over 40,000 customers by facilitating employees’ HR, Benefits, Academic Personnel, and Payroll inquiries and transactions in an efficient, accurate, and compliant manner.
During summer 2017, the UW will go live with the implementation of the Workday Human Resources and Payroll system. To deliver campus customer support services effectively, the university will establish an Integrated Service Center (ISC). The ISC Executive Director will be responsible for assisting with the planning and implementation of the ISC, and later, the management and oversight of the HR/P ISC services organization. The ISC Executive Director plays a key role in the development and continuity of a high level of service to customers by collaborating effectively with stakeholders in support of a continuous improvement model. S/he will work across organizational units and institutional structures and continually mature and improve the support services of the ISC. The ISC Executive Director must develop team performance by building end-to-end insight across highly integrated and complex Workday processes.
The successful candidate for the Executive Director role will have significant leadership experience, including supervision of a diverse staff in a deadline-driven environment. S/he will demonstrate the ability to cultivate trust, work collaboratively, and drive professional development for a high-performing team. S/he will have experience coordinating with functional technical teams to resolve system issues, improve business processes, and support testing and training activities. The Executive Director will have the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to balance competing priorities, experience delivering high quality customer services to an organization in a leadership role, and utilize a proactive continuous improvement/iterative approach to meet HR and Payroll process design requirements. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and six years of relevant experience in HR or Payroll processes, with preferably an advanced degree in Human Resources or Business Administration. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is a demonstrated leadership track record.
