Indiana University Kokomo is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Vice Chancellor for Finance, the chief financial officer of the campus, reporting to the Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor provides leadership, management and stewardship for all aspects of campus financial resources. Administers approximately $40 million in total funds including general funds, contracts and grants, auxiliary enterprises, designated and restricted funds.
Essential duties of the position include, but are not limited to: ensuring all campus business practices meet the highest ethical standards in compliance with established federal and state regulations, and financial policies, procedures, and practices; advising senior administration on campus and system fiscal issues; providing strategic planning for future growth; ensuring coordination of fiscal affairs with the IU system; working closely with the Office of Capital Planning and Facilities on capital projects for the campus, supervising the Offices of Bursar, Campus Events, and Finance, and providing oversight to the campus police department; leading the budget construction and year-end closing processes; responsible for all financial reporting for the campus.
Qualifications: Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Ten years combined leadership and management experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and planning in a higher education setting or an organization of comparable complexity required. An understanding of higher education administration is preferred. The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong, effective interpersonal and human relations skills that engender trust and cultivate collaboration; a commitment to institutional transparency and accountability; the ability to strategically plan for the future; a proven track record to plan and organize multiple projects or tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines; high levels of organizational skills to sift through information in electronic and print formats; the ability to work across diverse constituencies and organizations within a complex organization with many centralized services; and knowledge in Microsoft Office suite, with high level of expertise in manipulating data in MS Excel.
