Position Summary: Corporate Accounting is responsible for UC financial accounting policy and the consolidated financial reporting under generally accepted accounting principles for campuses, medical centers, University of California Retirement System and foundations. Corporate Accounting maintains the Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) system, coordinates the systemwide annual fiscal close and external financial statement audit, and provides technical accounting guidance on unusual/nonrecurring transactions. In addition, Corporate Accounting is responsible for accounting, reporting and administration of UC debt, endowments and investments.
Reporting to the Supervisor - General, Endowment and Investment Accounting, the position is responsible for all areas of endowment and investment accounting for the University, assuring financial statements are prepared in accordance with (Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and general/University accounting principles, actively teams with others for a timely completion of all endowment and investment accounting activities. This position is a key player in the accounting and reporting of University managed investment pools, provides policy interpretation, research of transactions, accounting training and advice on accounting policy and procedures to others within the University including campuses, medical centers, and foundations. The incumbent will work on special projects including researching technical issues, providing data to other stakeholders for key reports, implementing new accounting standards, drafting financial statement disclosures, responding to external auditor requests, and maintaining the endowment and investment reporting systems.
