The Office of Financial Services seeks an Assistant Controller. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Finance and University Controller, this position assists with all areas of financial reporting within the University, including, but not limited to: drafting the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report; monitoring internal controls; maintaining the general ledger; supervising accounting staff; and assisting in special projects among the functional accounting areas of treasury, payroll, accounts payable, tax and grants, capital assets and debt management.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Accountant/Fiscal Analyst III (AD25/146812), full-time position with benefits. SC Pay Band 06. Primary work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, this position may require varying work hours and weekend work. Must be flexible to meet special scheduling needs of the University.

A bachelor's degree and CPA certification or a MBA is required. A CIA or CFE may substitute for a CPA. Five (5) years professional work experience in appropriate areas such as accounting or banking; at least three (3) years of supervisory experience in accounting and financial management are required. The successful candidate should also possess: knowledge of best business practices and good internal controls; knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, auditing, banking, budgeting, financial management or investment; knowledge of office practices and procedures; knowledge of state government fiscal and accounting processes; knowledge of financial statement analysis; the ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts, analyze financial data and interpret financial data, reports, and records; and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
