Under general supervision, this position will develop and implement international risk management and insurance programs for The University of Texas System and its 14 institutions. •Liaise with Study Abroad Directors and International Educators to develop, implement, and standardize comprehensive System-wide policies, procedures, and practices relating to faculty, staff and student international travel, focusing on risk management, University liability, emergency preparedness, and crisis management. •Advise institutional contacts in response to emergencies abroad and provide crisis intervention support for UT students, faculty and staff abroad in close coordination with institution contacts. Conduct daily monitoring of world events, health and safety information, issues and legal decisions affecting international programs in higher education. •Coordinate with various brokers and services providers to ensure adequate travel accident & sickness, security evacuation, foreign voluntary workers’ compensation, DBA, auto and general liability insurance coverage is in place for travelers and University activities abroad. Assist institutions with individual case management and coordinate with emergency assistance provider and insurers. •Provide health, safety and security training for crisis managers and institution International Oversight Committees. •Collect and maintain international travel survey data and information, and maintain SharePoint and websites related to international risk management and insurance programs.
Bachelors degree in a related field, 4 years related experience. Computer experience including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
