This position reports directly to the AVP/CRO and will work closely with all staff. This position will provide opportunity for training with the Office of Risk Management as needed for the right person. The position is responsible for providing general office support and may include other duties as assigned.
Provides general office support to the AVP/CRO for various projects. This may include but not be limited to support of general review of risk assessments for the office, preparation for various meetings and supporting organization and follow-up to various meetings or projects.
Reviews and conducts basic risk assessments for "Use of Campus Grounds" in order to assess various safety, risk and general contractual needs. This process is needed to ensure that insurance needs are provided appropriate to the risk and contract and that student organizations are educated on the risk mitigation efforts for their programs.
This position will support the "Resilience and Crisis Management" program through tracking and monitoring various documents. This includes tracking "Continuity of Operations Plans" (COOP), and metrics associated with this process. In addition, this position will support Emergency Operations through assisting with meetings, training, tracking of assets and general coordination of processes.
Supports general office procedures including answering phones, filing, and support with meetings and paperwork. This may include general financial paperwork processing as needed for fire watch, claims administration, and overall office needs.
Supports general risk management duties including certificate of insurance (COI) tracking and claims support as needed. This includes excel spreadsheet work for tracking COI's, potential database entry and updates as needed.
Provides general support for Emergency Operations as needed. Provides support for tracking various metrics associated with the program on a cyclical basis.
May conduct training for Risk Management, Continuity of Operations or other areas as experience increases.
Education and Experience:
This position requires an Associate's degree. A Bachelor's degree in general economics, business, finance, accounting, and/or law are preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of general work experience is required. Previous experience with risk management, finance, economics or law preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required for this role. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are strong desired. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service orientation. Candidate must also possess strong time management, organizational, and planning skills. Attention to detail is a must.
The ability to work with a wide range of people at varying levels of skill and authority effectively, is required. The ability to multi-task, manage and prioritize day-to-day tasks combined with project management is required. Must have a strong understanding of compliance and be a critical thinker. Must demonstrate proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
