LIM College – Where Business Meets Fashion is currently seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Director of Human Resources-Academic Administration

Working under the direction of the Director of Human resources the Assistant Director of Human Resources, is responsible for administering all aspects of human resource support for Academic Administration, Full-time and Adjunct Faculty. The Assistant Director of Human Resources supports Academic Administration and faculty for all human resource functions such as recruitment, benefits administration, faculty onboarding and orientation, training, and HRIS data input Academic Administration, Full time and Adjunct Faculty. The Assistant Director of Human Resources will maintain a working knowledge of compliance of EEO, ADA, OSHA, and other governmental regulations. The Assistant Director of Human Resources provides recommendations to the Director of Human Resources in establishing overall human resource best practices, objectives and policies especially in relation to faculty and academic administration. She/he ensures all human resources activities are conducted in accordance with established LIM College policies and procedures
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Partnering with the Assistant Director of Human Resources, when necessary.
Working with the Assistant Director of Human Resources and the Human Resources Coordinator to plan faculty and College wide events supported by the Office of Human Resources.
Collaborating with the Human Resources Coordinator on projects as directed by the Director of Human Resources. Meeting with the Director of Human resources on a regular basis to discuss/address open faculty and academic administration human resource issues.
Assisting the Vice President for Academic Affairs with the faculty peer review process.
Partnering with the Director of Faculty Development, Vice president of Academic Affairs, Deans and department chairs on adjunct development and retention.
Ability to quickly assess situations, build consensus and implement practical solutions.
Working with academic leadership to resolve faculty related employee issues.
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources leads the recruiting and hiring process for all faculty (including adjunct) and academic leadership.
In conjunction with academic leadership develops an adjunct strategic hiring plan that ensures a continuous pipeline of qualified faculty to teach in all of the College's programs, degree levels and modalities.
Ensuring all faculty and academic administration job descriptions are current and up to date.
Working with the Director of Human Resources and the Core Values Consultant on the annual performance review process for faculty and academic administration.
Partnering with Vice President of Academic Affairs, department chairs and supervisors on performance management methodologies.
Assisting deans and department chairs and other academic leadership in determining departmental training needs & establishing training programs.
Working with the Director of Faculty Development and the Vice President for Academic Affairs in determining appropriate training for faculty.
Working with the Director of Faculty Development and Vice President for Academic Affairs to integrate adjunct faculty into the College community. With a goal of improving retention and quality of adjunct faculty.
Maintaining accurate records and reports concerning personnel-related data such as performance appraisals and training programs.
Working with the Assistant Director of Human Resources on payroll and recruitment for faculty and academic administration.
Collaborating with the Assistant Director of Human Resources on benefit-related services such as, enrollment, employee requested changes and data input of same for faculty and academic administration.
Collaborating and supporting the Assistant Director of Human Resource on all Wellness Programs.
Ensuring all required documentation is completed for all exiting faculty and academic administration.
Stay abreast of HR related laws and regulations, i.e., disability, worker's compensation, FMLA and all pertinent labor related concerns especially as related to faculty and academic administration.
Being first point of contact in the Human Resource Office for all Academic Administration, Full Time and Adjunct Faculty. This includes but not limited to payroll, employee relations and benefit administration. Remaining current on local, state and federal labor laws. Especially related to academic administration and faculty.
Provide input to the Director of Human Resources on annual update to the Employee Handbook. Review the Faculty handbook annually and suggest changes/updates to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Contributing to the quarterly State of the College report, annual assessment report and other communications as requested by the Director of Human Resources.
Participating in college-wide programs.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
REQUIREMENTS: The person selected will have the following qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Baccalaureate degree required
Broad knowledge of HR laws and regulations, benefits policies and programs, employee relations practices, and recruitment techniques
A minimum of 3- 5 years of generalist HR experience with minimum of 2 years as supervisor, particularly with a focus on faculty relations and recruitment
Demonstrated knowledge of Conflict Resolution solutions; preferably in a higher education setting
Master's Degree preferred
Preferred Experience: Working with Academic Administration and Faculty in a higher education setting
