The University of Toronto seeks a highly-effective leader for the position of Director, Budget Administration and Institutional Planning.
Under general and broad supervision of the Executive Director, Planning & Budget, the Director, Budget Administration and Institutional Planning provides leadership and direction for the overall administration of the University’s operating budget and is a key partner in the achievement of the department’s strategic goals and the University’s budgetary objectives. Working within a responsibility-centred budget environment at both a strategic and operational level, the Director works collaboratively with the Planning & Budget leadership team to develop the University’s operating budget and multi-year long range budget guidelines for recommendation to the President, the Provost, and Governing Council.
The ideal candidate has the capacity to develop an in-depth understanding of the University’s financial and human resources systems, academic and divisional priorities, as well as internal policies and procedures. The Director has strong oral and written communication skills, is highly analytical and detail-oriented, and guides staff in a manner that ensures effective administration and service delivery. The successful candidate has a degree from a recognized university, and senior administrative experience gained in an academic setting or equivalent. A professional accounting designation, project management certificate, or Master’s degree is preferred.
