Clark University is seeking to fill the position of Business & Auxiliary Services Manager.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Business & Auxiliary Services Manager will be responsible for the oversight and management of the University’s auxiliary services; supporting the University’s purchasing practices and systems; and the oversight of its risk management, emergency planning and insurance programs.
Duties and Responsibilities The Business and Auxiliary Services Manager will supervise the operations of various auxiliary services, including dining services and the OneCard office, and will work directly with appropriate contractors, vendors, and department heads to ensure service and financial expectations are met.
In a decentralized purchasing environment; the Business and Auxiliary Services Manager will function as a resource to purchasers on campus to assist them with purchasing-related questions, vendor selection, bidding processes, and contract review. The incumbent will serve as main point of contact with Clark’s eProcurement vendor (SciQuest) as well as other duties as assigned.
Manages and evaluates the University’s insurance portfolio (excluding employee health insurance and unemployment insurance). Identifies and analyzes risk exposures to procure appropriate and cost effective insurance to protect the assets of the University. Advises departments regarding insurance questions and methods of avoiding or limiting risk. Obtains insurance certificates as necessary. Develops, implements, and updates loss control programs and safety awareness programs. Manages the University's emergency notification system and develops and maintains emergency response plans.
Qualifications The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or other related field. Knowledge of budgeting, financial management, effective business practices, and risk management. Must have strong written and oral communications skills as well as attention to detail. A minimum of 5-7 years related experience, preferably in higher education or other non-profit environment. Technical qualifications include: Excellent analytical and financial management skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel); comfortable using ERP systems.
