The Financial Services department seeks a Controller to assume overall responsibility for the University’s financial records. The controller is responsible for the integrity and reliability of all financial information of Coastal Carolina University. This responsibility includes the establishment and maintenance of internal controls, financial policies, and procedure and quality work standards for the all financial areas. Areas reporting to the controller include but are not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax, general accounting, e-commerce, payroll, student accounts, investments, debt and capital assets. This position reports to and assists the Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer of Coastal Carolina University.
Some in-state travel is required and occasional overnight travel in and out of state.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Director (UP03/004900), full-time position with benefits. Primary work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, this position will require varying work hours and weekend work. Must be flexible to meet special scheduling needs of the University.
A bachelor’s degree and five years of supervisory experience in accounting and financial management is required. A CPA certification or a MBA is required. A thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to execute those principles is required. Advanced skills in excel and power point are required. Ability to work with integrated software systems is required. Candidates must possess uncommon integrity and have the ability to work with goodwill, and provide leadership to others. Must have a proven track record of developing and maintaining trusting, working relationships and building teams. Personal qualifications include well-developed communications skills, a high level of energy and strong interpersonal skills.
